The Endless Summer

Events in the news recently, in particular the latest sickness to come out of the Republican Debates earlier this month, has me avoiding wasting any precious brain cells on anything happening outside of my property line. As a result, I decided to build that garden shed I have been promising, and putting off, all summer.

So for the time being I have abandoned the computer to re-familiarize myself with power tools, lumber and other masculine objects of interest.

Oh and the picture - yes, it really is a garden shed and not a 4th bathroom.

And is it really you?

Taking a blogging break to create something in RL is a good idea.

Enjoy the power tools and the scent of freshly cut lumber.

I'll be here when you get back.

Simply precious

John Can't you tell by the "relieved" look on my face?

Cryptos Well my garden implements need a warm place to spend the winter.

EntreNous I have seldom been referred to as "precious", but thanks anyway.

That is funny! Really, it looks like just what the doctor ordered. Fresh air, exercise, work the muscles and fuhgeddaboudit!

Very impressive. Have fun!

Jayne OOOwww the muscles, did you have to remind me? Yes, I ache in places now that I didn't know had places! A bike ride and a soak in the spa is next on the agenda.

Paul Just getting my shit together, is all.

Dissenter They say laughter is a good laxative... I think.

That makes two of us, I'm usually into the politics but the leaders here are focusing on two key (and equally useless) issues for the past year and it is truly stupid since they're only answering to a redneck and hippie minority who just so happens to hold the balance of power because we have a hung parliament.

There are seriously more important issues at hand.

Well, relaxing in the "library" could also be an escape. A nice project to focus your attention.

Oh ... I thought your photo was staged as a comment on the recent news!

Is that where you do all your creative thinking?

Orhan Wow, sounds like a vary close parallel to what is going on here.

BackRow I try to maintain a string of household projects to keep me busy. Next year: deck replacement and bathroom remodel.

Sightings Well yes, it is!

Gutsy Projects like these are like a game or puzzle for me, I enjoy figuring it out and making it work; it's a form or recreation. But yes, it also gives me time to collect my thoughts.

Did Penwasser of Penwasser Place come over to take a dump in your yard, too? ;)

Dawn Nope, not yet at least. I checked his blog, seems like a guy after my heart, though.
