I went to Hawaii a couple of years ago for a conference, Robert. And do you know the only time I saw the sea was from the airplane. These photos make up for my oversight. Have a wonderful time.
Great pictures, Nancy. It looks like it was a perfect vacation, and truly Paradise. Nice to peek in on the relationship the Skeptic has in real life! :-)
Elisabeth I have heard of people attending conferences in luxury locations and not having the free time to enjoy the locale. How disappointing.
DJan The Skeptic has a very good real life!! Nancy loves photography, she came back with 600 pictures on her card. It was difficult to choose the few that I posted.
Paul Yeah, Heaven on Earth... though Heaven is very expensive.
Awkward We were in Oahu last year and it was horrible; congested, busy, smelly. The Big Island is a world away from Oahu.
Rubye We would never have been able to afford to go, and as many times as we have, without purchasing our "vacation plan" years ago.
Rain Nancy does a great job for sure.

Dissenter Those turtles made the beach hell... racing up and down the beach chasing and nipping at tourists. The photos caught them in a rare moment of repose. :)
SecretAgent How cool to have had camp on the Big Island!
Kitten Yes, you know the place. We also visited the Kadaoka farm again.
Paul While on the Big Island we actually toyed with the idea of buying a second home there. But as lovely as Hawaii was, we decided we would not want to live there forever; after 10 days we were ready to come home.
Be it Hawaii or Heaven, if you put more than just a passing thought to the idea, spending eternity in heaven does not sound all that good to me. In fact, I hope I don't go to heaven; I explained why here: A cold beer in heaven.
BREATH TAKING! Wow! ...(Looks like an amazing place. I sure hope I get a chance to visit the islands some day!) Great pics. Thanx for sharing, and I am sure glad to know you had an enjoyable and safe trip! Welcome home.
Cryptos Rebooting is exactly what Nancy termed it!
Adrielle I don't think we could have ever afforded to go had we not purchased a 'vacation plan' years ago during a trip to Mexico. Our vacation plan has enabled us to visit Mexico and Hawaii on several occasions.
Crnelius There are 'package deals' advertised in the newspaper and online. It's truly a wonderful place and you don't need a passport.
Jayne Yes, there were turtles and all manner of creatures basking in the sun on the beach. We were among them.
Nice! I'm hoping to take the family to the Big Island by April of 2013 at the latest. Doing the Pelagic Magic night dive out of Kona is on my diving bucket list.
Tommykey We just snorkel, our favorite place is Kahalu'u, we don't dive, of course. Where do you go for the Pelagic Magic night dive, Capt. Cook Bay I might guess?
Robert, for the pelagic night dive, they take you out into the ocean to where the water is about 4,000 feet deep. You dive to a depth of about 50 feet, being tethered to the boat, and you watch as the bioluminescent organisms from the deep rise to near the surface to feed during the night. It's supposed to be a really awesome experience.

I have been to Oahu, Maui and Molokai. Hawaii is a eaveny place...:-)
TYPO : HEAVENLY
Awesome! I'm so jealous. I have been to Hawaii once -the Big Island - about 12 years ago. I recognize some of those shot!
Beautiful photos. I've never been there.
Gorgeous photos

I love the Big Island. Those green sea turtles are so cool. Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos.
Now that's my idea of the perfect Valentines Day.
When I was a teen we spent a week on the Big Island at a really cool camp. Beautiful place.
I see you went snorkeling at our favorite spot. So great. Glad you had so much fun in the sun.
Heaven is worth the expense Robert...:-)

Nothing like beach, sun and turtles to reboot.

Slippery rocks. They get ya every time. Good to have a warning.
Beautiful place! I can't image a better setting for rejuvenation of heart and spirit. Happy for you to have escaped to such grandeur. :)
